Managing Director

Carl Roar Aamli founded Sail On AS and has many years of experience at sea. He has served in the Norwegian Navy, worked for the RNLI in the United Kingdom, and is trained as an RYA instructor. He is the former CEO of Sail On AS and is now the working chairman of the board. Carl Roar is a skipper and instructor, and is usually out on events, courses, expeditions, or other assignments.

Projects, instructor and skipper

Ruud Flietstra is trained as an industrial and engine mechanic and is originally from the Netherlands. Over the years, he has gained experience as a skipper at a boat workshop and within tourism. At Sail On, Ruud is responsible for everything related to RIB operations as well as all technical aspects of the fleet. In addition to Norwegian, he speaks Dutch, English, and some German.

Sales and marketing / Boat experiences – instructor and skipper

Tom Remman comes from Holmestrand and grew up in the Oslo Fjord with the first surf wave in the 1980s. Tom works with product development of existing and new tours. He plans and carries out tours in collaboration with guides. You call, and Tom handles your booking and further communication. Tom is also our sailing event skipper and RIB driver.

Projects, instructor, and skipper

Haakon Seeberg is a trained educator and has lifelong maritime experience. He grew up by the open sea and has few childhood memories that do not involve some form of boating. Haakon is focused on seamanship and safety at sea and has experience from the Coast Guard as a navigator and as a skipper in the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue for the past 20 years. He has extensive sailing experience and has for several years worked on a 19th-century Arctic ship and as a skipper in the market offering courses and experiences with sailboats and RIBs.

At Sail On, we are always looking for qualified people who can take on assignments as independent skippers with RIB and/or sailboats. It can be perfect for those who work shifts, have maritime experience, and the necessary certificates. At Sail On AS, we aim to be a one-stop destination for anyone who wants to enjoy life on the water. Whether it’s a bachelor party sailing trip or a professional pursuing a maritime career, the possibilities are endless. That’s why our work is organized into four main areas of expertise.

Eco-Lighthouse

In the summer of 2022, Sail On AS received its Eco-Lighthouse certification.

We are proud to be Eco-Lighthouse certified. This commits us to constantly evaluate our environmental footprint and make changes that better take care of nature and the sea.

Our Goal

We long to see people create experiences on the sea, experience mastery, and learn to work together. That is why we offer courses, experiences, expeditions, and events. The goal is for you to go from having zero sea experience to being comfortable on the water through our courses, but also to provide experiences that may give you a taste of the sea for the first time.

Sail On offers courses for all levels. From the very beginning with the boat license exam to ICC. The goal is to take you on a journey from being a beginner at sea to a master who could even turn it into a career if you wish. No matter what level you are at, we have a course that is perfect for you.

In addition to this, we have sailing courses that provide you with the skills and experience you need to sail on the sea. Sailing is a great way to travel on the water, and much of what you learn on a sailboat is easily transferable to motorboats.

Every year, we organize over 80 sailing events and RIB tours for companies. With our expertise and experience, we deliver customized corporate events, kick-offs, and team-building activities on and by the sea in Vestfold and throughout the Oslo Fjord region. We collaborate closely with local partners across Eastern Norway to ensure top-quality services and unforgettable experiences.

Some experiences can’t be fully explained—you have to live them. Sailing and RIB adventures are two of those experiences.

The beauty of the sea is that there are almost no limits to where you can go, and sometimes a day trip just isn’t enough. That’s why we offer longer overnight sailing trips that can take you as far south as Denmark, east to Sweden, and north to Lofoten.
