Trips for Different Purposes

A RIB is a fantastic type of boat suitable for many uses. The boat has a shallow draft, a pointed bow, and excellent maneuverability, allowing us to reach most places. In addition, the tube acts as a permanently mounted fender.

Here are some of the many possibilities we can offer:

Coastal Archipelago Tour

Færder National Park offers some of the finest coastal areas we have in Norway. We are happy to tell you about well-known landmarks such as Bolærne, Mågerø, Verdens Ende, and more along the way, within the agreed time frame.

Perhaps there is a specific place you would like us to stop by? That is absolutely possible!

The Meeting Breaker

Is your conference weekend packed with important meetings? A RIB tour is the perfect way to get some fresh air, recharge the group, and return with fresh thoughts and windswept hair!

Ocean Safari

We choose a route based on your wishes, with a focus on wildlife and natural phenomena. If the weather allows, we often see seals resting on the rocks in Færder National Park.

Here are some of the many possibilities we can offer

Transport

Would you like to get from A to B in a fun and efficient way? The possibilities are many!

Lighthouse Visits

Maybe you want to see a lighthouse up close? We can usually go ashore at lighthouses such as Fulehuk Lighthouse, Færder Lighthouse, and Svenner Lighthouse, and the staff or skippers are happy to share the history of the lighthouse.

It’s a perfect opportunity to break up the trip with refreshments, which we can provide, or you can bring your own.

Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties

A farewell to single life can be perfectly celebrated with an exciting RIB ride! The trip can be planned according to your wishes, with a return to the starting point, or it can serve as a RIB transport segment.

Please note that visibly intoxicated persons are not allowed on board, so it’s best to wait with any alcohol consumption until after the trip. 🙂

EXPERIENCE REAL SPEED ON THE SEA – A DAY FILLED WITH EXCITEMENT, FUN, AND LOTS OF WATER

RIB Event with Sail On

Do you want a carefully planned event with several elements in addition to the RIB ride? We can organize full days with a variety of activities and catering.

Since this depends on the number of participants and the purpose of the event, we would like to get in touch to provide you with the best possible tailored solutions.

We can also organize transportation of people and luggage from the departure point to the arrival point by minibus if needed.

Practical Information

There’s a lot you might wonder about when it comes to RIB tours. Here we’ve gathered some of the frequently asked questions.

As standard, we provide:

  • Life jackets
  • Full-body flotation suits (can be skipped in nice weather)
  • Protective goggles (similar to ski goggles with a secure strap)

We also recommend dressing according to the weather forecast, as it’s often windier and cooler on the water. For a more comfortable experience:

  • Windproof jacket – makes the trip much more enjoyable

  • Warm layers – wool underwear, hat, buff/scarf, and gloves for colder days

  • Sturdy shoes – must be able to get wet, no heels

With the right clothing and our safety equipment, you’re all set for a fun and safe adventure on the water!

This depends entirely on wind and wave conditions. On a calm day with no waves, it’s possible to stay mostly dry.

However, if the wind and waves come from a different angle than our driving direction, there’s a good chance you’ll get partially or completely wet during the tour.

It’s wise to have a change of clothes at the finish location, just in case.

For safety, we follow strict limits based on the type of waters:

  • Zone 1 & 2 – Enclosed or sheltered waters:
Tours will not be conducted if wind speeds exceed 15 m/s or wave heights are over 2 meters.

  • Zone 3 – Open waters adjacent to the sea:
Tours will not be conducted if wind speeds exceed 15 m/s or wave heights are over 3 meters.

These limits ensure safe and enjoyable RIB experiences for all participants.

Right before departure, the captain will go through a safety briefing with all passengers. He will explain the tour, how to behave, and what you can do to stop the boat.

The captain depends on you giving feedback along the way if you want a change, and that is absolutely fine!

After completing the safety briefing, the captain will ask you to sign a self-declaration. This is to confirm that you understand the risks involved in the tour.

At the same time, it will serve as a passenger list and may be used in case of an accident.

Together with our partners, we can provide RIB tours with up to 100 passengers!

We operate under the regulations for vessels carrying 12 passengers or fewer. This means that one boat cannot have more than 12 passengers, but we can organize multiple boats if needed.

We place high demands on our subcontractors and require that they are also approved and registered with the Norwegian Maritime Authority.

It is possible to bring luggage such as jackets, backpacks, and bags. We have large waterproof bags on board that can be filled and stored in a closed compartment.

On pure transport trips, we can accommodate much more luggage. However, the amount may limit speed and action, so this must be taken into account.

We can also arrange transport of people and luggage from the departure point to the arrival point by minibus if needed.

It is still at your own risk to bring more than necessary. We disclaim any liability for damage or loss of personal luggage.

In the winter of 2022, Sail On has placed special focus on the “E” in HSE – the environment. This means that we aim to minimize our environmental impact at every stage. By choosing Sail On, you are choosing a greener alternative. How we do this:

  • We choose local providers, which reduces emissions from unnecessary transportation.

  • We take the local environment, wildlife, and the archipelago into account, selecting routes and speeds in sensitive areas to protect them.

Life is an adventure, make sure you find the time to enjoy it
