Sail On has been renting out sailboats, with and without a skipper, to companies and private customers since 2010. The boat is insured for every kind of rental, with full hull cover, liability, and personal accident insurance.
The First 40.7 is known for the combination it strikes: a genuinely good cruising boat that still races well. Ours comes with good sails, a furling headsail, lazy jacks and a stack bag for the main, which makes her easy to handle. Used sensibly with the autopilot, many people sail this boat single-handed.
Below deck there are three double cabins, a well equipped galley, a roomy salon, and a bathroom with wc, shower and basin. The interior is light oak and pear, which keeps it bright.
She lies in Melsomvik, right at the mouth of the Oslofjord, with Vestfold, Østfold, the Swedish coast and Sørlandet as the nearest cruising grounds.

All prices include 25% VAT. Ascension Day and Whitsun are in high demand and priced separately, so ask for those.
Packages
Added to the rental, and each one is a fixed price rather than something that grows with the days.
Comfort, 3 000 kr
The boat handed over made up: mattress toppers, duvets, pillows and towels for six. A fixed price whatever the length of the rental.
Family, 3 500 kr per week
An inflatable dinghy with or without an outboard. 1 750 kr for the dinghy, 1 750 kr for the motor, either on its own or both.
Performance, 5 000 kr per week
The spinnaker, for the week. The boat carries a spinnaker pole as standard.
Regatta, by agreement
Standard for Færderseilasen, Skagen Race and Hollænderseilasen, with a skipper, everything rigged and ready before you step aboard.
Cleaning, 3 000 kr
We take the final clean, arranged in advance. She still has to come back tidy with the rubbish out; the thorough wash for the next renter is ours.
With a skipper, and other boats
We also rent the boat out with a skipper for larger groups: company events, team building, Færderseilasen, Skagen Race, Hollænderseilasen. Prices on request, because those depend on the crew and the event. And we broker other owners’ sailboats from 34 to 46 feet, so if the weeks you want are taken, ask anyway.

- A very good mainsail and a brand new headsail. A spinnaker is available as an addition.
- Instruments
- Raymarine C80 chartplotter below and a Raymarine Axiom 7 on deck. Six Raymarine C60 instruments, three at the mast and three at the helm. Raymarine fluxgate and autopilot. VHF.
- And on board
- A large sprayhood, a shower in the bathroom and another on the stern, and a Webasto diesel heater. The galley is properly equipped with glasses, cups, plates, bowls and cutlery. An anchor winch forward with a long chain and 90 metres of rope.

What do we need to rent her without a skipper?
Talk to us about your experience before you book. A 40.7 is a big boat, and what matters is that whoever is skippering has handled something comparable.
If the experience is not there yet, take her with one of our skippers, or do the ICC with us first.

How many can sleep aboard?
Three double cabins below deck, and the comfort package is made up for six.

What state does she have to come back in?
Tidy, relatively clean, and with all the rubbish taken off. If you want the thorough clean handled, add the cleaning package in advance and we do it.
